The Levanat is a gentle summer wind. It brings wet and cloudy weather to the Croatian coast. In the days when ships sailed without engines, the Levanat was used to cross the channels that separate the islands from the mainland and deliver various goods in the morning. People would return on their sailing ships to their island ports in the afternoon with the Maestral wind. Today, the same mechanism is used for recreation. If you like waking up early, sailing in this wind which never reaches great strength in the morning is a fun and beautiful experience. You can also sail west with it, which is sometimes a pleasant change in summer.
